“Waterfall” Eroding clay at @air_byrdcliffe 2021.

These are sculpted from memories of finding swimming holes my first summer upstate NY. I was reflecting on the power of renewal in the water’s force cascading over head and shoulders. It can feel like a beating, brisk, and you fight to stay inside the rush.
Tthere is another adrenaline in eroding these pieces. Relinquishing control to the water. You trust that you pull the figure out at the precious moment before total loss.

Clay Figures are about 7” x 2”x 2”
